We decided that was ridiculous, so we did things differently.
The Idea Behind Modular Infrared
Most heaters use films or coils that are baked right into the assembly. If one spot fails, the whole unit is trash. We went with a modular infrared setup instead. Think of it like a slot system. Each heating element has its own spot and a standard connector. So, if a tube burns out after five years of heavy use, you don’t need a sledgehammer. You just pull out the dead module and slide in a new one. Simple as that.
Making Maintenance Actually Easy
We designed this around the “five-year itch.” Our frames let a technician get to the heating tubes without messing with the mirror’s glue or the main power lines. You unplug the module, swap the tube, and you’re back in business in a few minutes. No fancy adhesives, no factory-level teardowns—just a quick swap in the field.
The Trade-off (Because Nothing is Perfect)
Infrared is fast. Really fast. Your mirror clears up in seconds. But here’s the catch: high-density infrared heat can create hot spots if the module is shoved too close to the glass. That’s why getting the air gap and the mounting brackets exactly right is so important. You want the heat to spread evenly so you don’t risk cracking the glass from thermal stress. It takes up a bit more space than the cheapest options out there, but it’s worth it. Especially for commercial jobs, where paying a pro to spend hours ripping out a mirror costs way more than the hardware itself.
